8 years ago I sat in my living room, holding my 9-month-old baby when my husband came home from work early to tell me he had been laid off.

I had left my job 9 months earlier to be a stay-at-home mom, and money was already tight.

To say we were scared about our future in such a jobless economy would be an understatement. We were terrified!

At the time I had been blogging for about a year at my current blog (and had about 647 page views per month) and was making about $5.12 a month on Google AdSense.

But I knew there had to be a way to start making real money with my blog, and quickly!

So I dove head-first into all the information I could find regarding how to make money blogging. And there was a lot!

It seemed like everyone had something different to say, so it was hard at first to know where to start.

But I stuck with it, and I'm so glad I did!

After about 4 months of trial and error I made enough in one month to cover my husband's old salary... then 4 months later, I was making double his salary!
